Just A Thought!

When called by God, there is a purpose in that call. So often we want to conform everyone to the same call, but God is both specific and diverse in our call. Our call is unto salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord, and to a church where the whole counsel of God is given. Our only problem is that many of the churches do not hold to the necessity of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. There will always be different expressions of Christ from different churches, even as we have seen in the Letters to the churches in the Epistle’s. Each church is unique, and yet we are called one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling: One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in all.” Ephesians 4:4-6. I should also include verse 3. “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” I must admit here that it is a little more difficult to keep that part seen casting off the whole counsel of God and now following another gospel.

As individuals in the Body of Christ, we are a specific purpose and call to fulfill, and as one’s saved by the glorious gospel, we don’t have to be the same. So many forget that: Ephesians 4:7 “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” We are also instructed in verse 17: “This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles, in the vanity of their mind.” We each have a purpose and the purpose is to fulfill the will of God, while we are here on this earth. Sameness does not fulfill that will. By One God and Father of us all, One Body, One Spirit, One faith, One baptism, we fulfill the will of God and members in particular, each with the purpose of glorifying God while here on this earth. There is one call of God for all believers. Ephesians 5:1 “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children, and walk in love as Christ hath loved us, and hath given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.” God bless you today with these thoughts and have a great day.
